I talked to Catfish yesterday. He is home but a long way from being well. He says he is still in a lot of pain but they give him some good dope. I reckon now it is just a matter of time until he heals.

DAMN! But you can't say the public was not warned that it was gonna happen. But they chose bread and circus over fiscal responsibility for years and it now is coming down around their heads. Whats next? Will the public choose bread and circuses in exchange for their personal freedom? Will we give up our bill of rights in exchange for government hand outs?
The Emperor allows that government has to cut down the deficit spending. Yeah, right...he says this after pushing through the biggest pork bill in the history of the country! And now how is he gonna balance the budget? He says he will cut programs that don't work....well, about cutting programs to those who will not work? I'll tell you how he is gonna balance the budget if in fact it gets balanced...on your back! Yeah, tax the producer! I would go along with this if taxing the producer didn't mean taking from those who earn it and giving it to those who do not. But As Obama told Joe the Plumber, 'spreading the wealth' is his plan. Socialism has not been conducive for any society yet and in fact has never helped anyone except those who are on the receiving end of it. And eventually socialist economies crumble because those producing finally realize they are being screwed and join the looters. (I realized this some time back and that is one of the reasons that I retired early)
Does any one but me see a connection between a stock market that has lost half its value since the left wing has been running the country? Will we last long enough to have a revolution at the polls in Nov 2010 that will toss the socialists out on their butts? Elections cost money and the Chinese may not be willing to loan us enough to even hold elections again.

This is probably the first time I have ever agreed with anything that Krugman has written. I consider him one of the advocates of a socialist economy and usually what he writes supports my conclusion. But he is right about the government taking over the big banks that are failing...
"When the F.D.I.C. seizes a bank, it takes over the bank’s bad assets, pays off some of its debt, and resells the cleaned-up institution to private investors. And that’s exactly what advocates of temporary nationalization want to see happen, not just to the small banks the F.D.I.C. has been seizing, but to major banks that are similarly insolvent.
The real question is why the Obama administration keeps coming up with proposals that sound like possible alternatives to nationalization, but turn out to involve huge handouts to bank stockholders."
The answer to that question is the same as the answer to the question of why Fanny Mae and Fanny Mac fucked the tax payers...Barney Frank, Dodd, and many more of the congressional democrats who the bankers have in their hip pockets. Get rid of the socialist crooks in congress and three fourths of the problems will be solved. Get rid of the bankers who bought them and the rest of the problem is solved.

Supposed to be another beautiful day on sweetthing's half acre although the weather quacks missed the forecast by a 1/8" of ice last night. That 38F they forecasted might have killed some tomato plants. Sumbitches. I should have know better to trust a weatherman. I have floated my boat on six inches of their partly cloudy forecast before..more than once.
But what the hell, if those pretty plants croak from the ice they just croak from the ice...ain't shit I can do about it now except get some more sets or wait until the tiny ones I have in the hot house grow up. Can't lose sleep over a frost...too many other things happening to lose sleep over.

In any event life is still good on sweetthing's half acre. We are not going hungry and our health is about as good as can be expected for a couple of old horses that have been rode hard and put up wet for too many years. Sweetthing still makes my coffee the way I like it and always brings me that refill before I ask for it...and my dawgs love me also. HEY! What else could a man ask for, huh? Y'all come back, heah?
