Jordon Morgan
The Milligan brothers often run with the bulls every Pomplona Spanish summer. The book they wrote is called "Bulls Before breakfast"' and is basically a story about their trip to run with bulls on a Spanish street. They explore every corner of the city and this ridiculous tourist event although there is little of critical thought of what this event is and represents. They do bash the shithead sports writer rick Reilly who also wrote his memoirs of this event and anyone who bashes Rick Reilly is pretty cool These guys put themselves in harms way harassing these creatures and making a mockery of male masculinity and humanity feeling important for attending something as silly as this Pampalona event. This sophomoric book follows these two brothers in this important male European ritual of drink and pomp and the hope I got as a reader that some harm would come to these jerks in these runs unfortunately didn't materialize as a epic dramatic ending for this boring book. These guys give advice about how to run and be seen in this event often glamorizing this as something special when all it is a place for wealthy plutocrats like Peter Milligan to vent some rage in their boring mid-life crisis life. Like I said he criticizes another dweeb rick Reilly for his run in this race but the pictures I have seen of this geek makes him look foolish and has clumsy a proud bullrunner as he claims for Rick Reilly and Dennis Rodman. Now mind you Rick Reilly is a sack of shit sportswriter who has used this event for writing material and does deserve to be ridiculed for pushing this run. there is nothing of any quality that has come from his sports writing and in this these two writers are similar as this book offers nothing to the reder except some recollections and advice for a stupid event by some swindling lawyer. It eventually comes out this creep peter Milligan's brother received his wish and was eventually gored by a Bull and he now wears this wound as a symbol of courage as medieval men often would display a wound from a battle. This is apparently the reason events like this thrive in modern Europe as it has become a land along with its American cousin where seeking excitement or prestige has become more and more difficult to achieve. Attending a run every summer in Spain seems to fill this void for many of these men and in seeing this event and its role of importance in Spanish society one can see why this empire fell so precipitously and is deserving of its current role as one of the most irrelevancy of all countries in the Global marketplace. All they have is this silly animal harassing event to put it on the map today. lets see Peter Milligan or Rick Reilly mentioned this anywhere.
