Last week I attended a forum-networking session, The Peak organized by Startup Street in conjunction with their 1st year anniversary at Signature by The Hill @ The Roof. They kicked it off with a sit-down forum session featuring some of the prominent entrepreneurs in the Malaysian startup scene such as Joon Chan, Christopher Tock, Maxine Lee and Hugh Koh.
Since young, I wanted to be an entrepreneur but I have no idea on how to start on. That's Startup Street is here to guide all the future entrepreneurs on how to startup their own businesses. Startup Street seeks to empower startups through talent. They seek to bridge the gap between Students and Startups. They are looking for entrepreneurs or people in general who are interested about entrepreneurship to join their meetup group to network with prominent entrepreneurs and like-minded people in the scene.
The forum started off with Mr Christopher Tock, the Co-Founder and Director of SocialGrooves.com! Chris shared with us about how he left it all to pursue his startup dreams and how did he close a deal with Datuk Lee Chong Wei on putting him in charge of his social media platforms.
We had the opportunity to hear Mr Hugh Koh, Co-founder of Pestle Mortar Clothing, sharing his story and journey with us on how he established Pestle Mortar Clothing! :D Next would be Mr Joon Chan, the Regional Managing Director of Easy Taxi SEA shared with us his ups and downs of his journey with Easy Taxi. It's not easy for all these entrepreneurs as they had gone through several failures before becoming who they are today.
Another beautiful lady who works on Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAP) Startup Accelerator, Miss Maxine Lee impressed me with her entrepreneurship skills. Maxine Lee is an Associate of MAP. She assists in coordinating the MAP Startup Accelerator and supporting the funded teams in their day-to-day operations. She spearheaded the MAP Velocity Feeder Programs, which were designed to upskill and network aspiring entrepreneurs. Maxine is passionate about connecting founders and enabling them to build disruptive businesses which tackle big problems and drive significant impact.
All the guests whom attended that night were given a complimentary drink by checking in at Signature by The Hill @ The Roof.
The forum is followed by a networking session co-hosted with their partners, Drinkentrepreneurs in KL for a mingling session with those who were present on that night. It's a wonderful night at Signature by The Hill.
