A Wes Craven double bill for Shocktober.

The Last House on the Left (1972)

Craven's first film is not his best, but though it is uneven Last House has some chilling performances, deeply horrifying scenes and one of the most intense and difficult murder sequences on film. Not for the squeamish.

Wes Craven's New Nightmare

I'll be reviewing the complete Nightmare on Elm Street series this week, so I thought I'd post what I consider the series' highlight for you to watch. This is, for my money, something of an unsung classic, and perhaps the first postmodern horror film. It's a smart, funny and scary film.
